AW: Found a pediatrician!

It's great to mark this one off the list. DH and I interviewed a pediatrician candidate around lunchtime today and both loved him. He and his wife, who is an allergy specialist, have a private practice near the hospital where Noah will be born. He is also one of the doctors who performs rounds at the hospital. I think the most important things for us is that he was obviously competent, well established (been a full-time pediatrician for 13 years, had his practice set up for about six years) and his personality really fit well with ours.

Have you decided on a pedi yet? What were your deciding factors?

  • That is wonderful.  We also found our Pedi.   It is also an office where a husband and wife have a practice together.

We liked our choice of doctors personality.  He seemed friendly, but very practical and seemed to agree with us with most of our concerns.  Medications, breast feeding, circumcision... Plus he just seemed really down to earth and practical.   Very ready to answer questions.

  • We found a great group.  I only met a few of the pediatricians, but they were really nice, and the practice agrees on everything we want for our little boy.  The best things are that they have three locations, they have walk-ins Monday through Friday at every office and there are Saturday/Sunday hours at two of the locations.  One thing I loved about the office is that the sick kids are kept completely separate from the kids who are in for check-ups -- not just separate waiting rooms, but separate exam rooms, separate scales and everything.
