5 Months

So I keep hearing different things, I always thought 20 weeks was the mark of your 5th month, now I am hearing 18 weeks is.

Can anyone clarify this ?

For our own and our doctors' purposes, pregnancy is measured in weeks.  For the rest of the population, it's better to just say it in months.  40 weeks is obviously longer than 9 months ... so you have to alter it a bit.  There are different amounts of days/weeks in a month, so it is going to be "off".  If you try to tell someone you are almost 10 months pregnant when you are 39 weeks, even though you basically are, it will confuse them.  I would just, for simplicity's sake, count back from your due date and say you are that many months pregnant.  I'm 19 weeks pregnant .... so almost 5 months technically, but my due date is July 21st, so I will tell those who ask that I am 4 months pregnant, and on March 21st I will be 5 months.

I thought it was 22 weeks is 5 months. I have just started saying I am 5 months along

This is what I do.  As of March 19th I will be 6 months, due June 19th.

I go by the number of weeks. This Thursday I'll be 20 weeks so, to me, that's 5 months. If people can't follow along that a real pregnancy is basically 10 months, they're stupid lol

This is what I do.  As of March 19th I will be 6 months, due June 19th.
