What made you suspect your LO had reflux?

I'm worried because my LO sleeps in a RnP... she's never laid flat to sleep. She doesn't spit up a lot, but almost every nap she wakes up after 30 minutes and she sounds like she's coughing/choking/clearing her throat. I can't get her to go back to sleep either. She'll just lay there looking around, sucking on her paci (after I give it back).

Re: What made you suspect your LO had reflux?

  • Our baby was real fussy one evening and she kept like losing her breath.  She would cry out in pain.  We called the pediatrician and he told us to take her to the ER and they said it was acid reflux.  But she wasn't spitting up, it would come up and she'd swallow it back down.  That would cause her to lose her breath and cry out in pain.

I figured it was due to me drinking more caffeine.  So I quit and she's been fine every since.
