Just came back from the Nicu for a family member

Two of my neices were expecting, the 1st was March 31st and 2nd April 1st and the one March 31st had her baby on Friday.  He was ony 4 pounds and is doing well.  I asked to see some of the babies in there that were 24 weeks as that's my Vday next week and they were so small but beautiful. 

I know my LO is really small but they are so perfectly made even at this stage.  Sorry if I'm upsetting anyone, I just have so much on my mind after leaving there.  The hospital is over and hour away so it took us a while to get there.  I couldn't think about anything but my baby all the way home. I think I'm going to hold my stomach a bit tighter tonight.

Awww... so glad to hear your niece's LO is doing well.  And that's awesome that babies born at 24 weeks are in the NICU.  It's still so scary when babies are born that early.  I'm thankful for every week my LO stays "inside" and gets stronger!

I know the feeling.  I have a local friend who we were going through pregnancy together - she is/was 6 weeks ahead of me with twins.  Her twins were born 3 days ago - 27w1d.  They're both doing "ok" - Baby A's water broke early so both had to be delivered.  Baby A (a girl) is 1lb14oz and her brother is 2lbs3oz.  I get sporadic updates, can't go visit because risk of infection.  Both seem to be doing ok - long term risks still to be assesed but the boy is on CPAP and the girl, I think, came off intubation yesterday - not sure what the next breathing step for her is. Mom is pumping colostrum and they took  few cc's yesterday - all great news.  But still VERY scary stuff.

Sometimes I just rub my belly and thank God for miracles.

I am so amazed at what the doctors and hospitals can do for a preemie. I pray that everything will be fine with my LO, but just in case it is so wonderful to know they are there.
