Ok, so I admit that this is a tad bit of an AW, but mostly just pure amazement that it's actually working, that I have to share it with someone!
At their 9 mo check up, our doc advised that they were ready to drop down from 24oz to more like 18oz and increase solids to 3x's per day with snacks if needed. I got this half brained idea that eliminating one bottle was the way to go, so why not the bedtime bottle? Crazy right? But I got to thinking...as time goes on, they are only going to rely more and more on the bottle as part of their bedtime ritual, so doesn't it make sense to break it sooner rather than later? AND if they only have bottles at meal time (in their highchairs), won't that make it just that much easier to transition them to cups?
So, I hiked up my big girl pants on Thursday night and vowed to give it a good shot over the weekend, and if it didn't work, then back to the drawing board. Much to my surprise, it hasn't phased them one bit! We replaced the snuggle bedtime bottle time with snuggle story time, and they still go down, and right to sleep as though nothing changed! Woo-hoo!!!!!
