? About cord falling off

Regardless of the fact that I've done this twice before, I can't remember. LO's cord is hanging on by a thread right now. I'm trying to leave her topless since its still all goopy underneath and around it. What did you do for clothing after the cord fell off but before the actual belly button healed and wasn't oozy anymore? Or is the oozy not normal? Ugh, I wish I could remember this from my first two LO's.

    We just dressed little one as normal, but with a onesie underneath so his clothes didn't get yucky. BUT his doc took a long Q tip and cleaned up the area and after that it really wasn't goopy at all.

    We kept a onsie underneath anything she was wearing...but hers never got oozy.  At the hospital they told us not to use anything on it, so we didn't.  They did say to use an alcohol swab to wipe around it if it got oozy.  That's probably what I would do.

    Geez my LO is almost 2 weeks old and hers still hasn't fallen off yet. It looks good and is drying up really good and no oozing so I'm not worried. I put a onesie under everything she wears to keep her clothes clean.
