So DD is going to town in her jumperoo and I'm attempting to be all grown up and stuff by listening to the news. I'm flipping between CNN, Fox, and MSNBC feeds. Not highly sophisticated, high brow news sources, sure. But still nothing wacky ala The 700 Club or Marxist News Today.
In the past 15 minutes I have been informed by way of various sound bites that Barack "Hussein" Obama does not want to the fund troops, has received contributions from "foreign lands," has ties to domestic terrorists, and is largely responsible for the economy being off the rails.
John McCain, on the otherhand, is a dangerously unstable, angry old dude who may drop dead at any minute. He wants war to continue indefinitely, would rather blow stuff up than talk to foreigners, digs closet racism, and is largely responsible for the economy being off the rails.
Really? I mean, really? All of this mud-slinging seems intellectually insulting and patently ridiculous. Does this stuff work on anyone? Thoughts?
Re: NBR Poll: Ridiculously Negative Campaigning.
I agree. I think that there are some ignorant folks out there (in Yakima, really) who believe that because Barack's mn is Hussein he must be evil.
It doesn't work on mr, for one, but if I were undecided I would likely go for the one with the less nasty campaign.?
Everyone says they hate negative campaigning. Everyone. I know of no one who's like, "Wow, that negative campaigning really swayed me!"
But it must work or they wouldn't keep doing it. McCain's was polling way behind Obama a few months ago. Then he went negative and practically caught up in the polls (even before the Palin splash).
Even while people are busy hating it, they must be subconciously swayed. Those little gems work their way into our minds and become a part of the way we (as a group) view a candidate, even though we know better...
