It's supposed to be c.o.l.d. on Friday/Saturday, perfect stew weather! Do you have a favorite crock pot recipe you would like to share? The last time I attempted it, my stew was waaaaaaaaaaaay too salty.
last time i made it i loosely followed a recipe that was given to me in an email from a fellow nestie. it is a bunch of crock pot recipes, if you want i can email it to you. my email address is my sn at gmail.com.
for the stew i tossed the beef cubes in flour and salt and pepper and browned it in a pan w/ alittle olive oil. then added beef, stock/broth, carrots, potatoes, chopped onion and celery into crock-pot and put it on low for a few hours. when i checked it, it was a little watery so i added some brown gravy mix.
My mom bakes a pot roast with potatoes, carrots and an onion covering the bottom with water and tenting to keep moisture in. When the meat is fully cooked she cubes it and the veggies. Puts it all in a pot with tomatoe paste, corn and frozen veg all, some garlic powder/onion powder to taste..
I love this recipe and get rave reviews every time I make it for anyone! I use most of the reviewer recommendations for changes from the first reviewer (Corinne):
