Hemp or cotton inserts for Weehuggers?

I'm planning to make Weehuggers covers part of my NB and infant stash, but I don't want to buy the bamboo Weehuggers inserts. At this point I'm pretty committed to keeping as much of my stash as possible natural fibers. Can I use GMD hemp inserts/doublers in these covers? Or does anyone have any suggestions for cotton inserts that work in these covers? I know I can use prefolds/fitteds as well.
