Your temp later in the day should be higher than the waking temp because you've been moving around and stuff. But then it isn't your BBT it's just your temperature. Basal body temp refers to your temp just upon waking before any movement etc.
i guess i was just asking if people used their BBT thermometers during the day to see what it was....i was just wondering if there was a huge difference. like if it's usually just 1 degree higher or something or .5 degrees higher or something. like i said..im bored. but thinking about it further there probably is a huge difference if your temp is like 97.7 and the average is 98.6. guess im a genius ; )
From what I understand your temp during the day should be about 98.6 no matter what time of the month it is for you. But your BBT adjusts to where you are in your cycle, beginging of your cycle should be low due to estrogen and the 2nd half should be high from progestrogen, but your temp during the day should stay close to the same, if i understand it correctly.

I did the same thing to check if my BBT was working. After reading the PPs though, I'm not sure if my thermometer works or not. My temp around 5pm is actually LOWER than when I first wake up.
