best TTC/pregnancy nutrition books? ideally low-carb or "Weston Price"-ish.

We'll be TTC starting this summer. I want to read up on nutrition in regards to pregnancy before then.

There are so many pregnancy/fertility diet books out there, I want to only buy 2-3 books on this topic.

What are your top recommendations?

I am particular interested in traditional foods and low-carb philosophy. (My day-to-day nutritional apporach is eating real food and leaning towards the low-carb side; think Michael Pollan with a little bit of Michael Eades mixed in) And I don't eat soy.

  • Nutrition which is good outside and inside of pregnancy looks about the same. If you have a diet which works for you, just continue it.

Eating a balanced, varied diet with lots of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean protein has been my goal. If I was you, I'd see what your library had to offer and not bother purchasing specific pregnancy nutrition (or honestly, pregnancy) books.

  • Loading the player...

  • Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler--great book that covers how nutrition affects fertility.  Eating healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, coconut, nuts etc.) helped me.

  • also real food for mothers and babies by nina planck- so great!

or full moon feast ( i forget the author but she goes into how honey is good for fertility, and why it is called a honeymoon, for example and it has fun recipes overall!)
