Bleeding....like period blood?? (40 weeks, 4 days preggo)

Last night I was very crampy on and off so I didn't sleep well.

I woke up, went to the bathroom, and when I stood up I had a large heap of blood fall onto the floor. I called the dr. and went to see him where he said it was the beginning of labor.

He did an internal and told me I was 1 cm and 75% effaced. He also swiped my membranes.

When I left the office I felt like I was gushing and when I got to the toilet I noticed there was a LOT of blood on the pad. Was this from the membrane stripping?

I had to get a NST and AFI done today so I know baby Logan is okay in there but I'm just wondering if anyone else was bleeding before they went into labor...

This happened to me as well, and fifteen minutes later my water broke! Good luck!

My BFF said this happened to her. She was really scared bc of the amount of blood, went to L&D and was sent home, only to wind up back there in labor within the next day.

Oh my goodness, this was my first labor exactly! DH and I did the dirty, felt a wetness trickling down my thigh and it was blood- a very, very large large amount of it. Went to L&D and got sent home, but my labor kicked off later that next evening anyway!

The membrane stripping might have been a little rough, but it's usually a sign labor is imminent no matter how you get there. Hope it happens soon for you!
