how long did you stay before going home?
just curious. i stayed 24 hours but i didn't want to be in a hospital at all so it seemed longer than that. h was too freaked out about a home birth and there's no birth center here. i couldn't get out of there fast enough!

This exactly.
BFP 11/29 - m/c @ 5w
I had Cohen at 9 pm on a Friday night, and I was ready to go home Saturday morning... lol. But they really pushed staying 24 hours so they could monitor the baby, not just me. Of course they don't do discharges after a certain time so we had to stay til Sunday morning. I wanted to be home in my own bed almost right away, though.
ETA: The hospital only has labor and delivery rooms, and no nursery. So I labored, delivered, and stayed in the same room, and Cohen never left my side. If they had a nursery I might have liked staying there so I could have slept. But I didn't sleep a wink because of how crazy the whole experience was, so I probably wouldn't have slept anyway.
2 nights. 3 if you count the one where I was in labor.
I had a great experience at my hospital. The nurses were wonderful and I was treated very well, as was my baby. I considered a birth center, but I would not have been able to use my OB, whom I love. I was afraid about it ahead of time, but it ended up being a great decision.

God, too long. I had Lilly at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning and wasn't released until around noon on Tuesday.
I had asked beforehand about leaving early, but when I got resistance I just caved. Next time I'll probably press the issue.
Same here. The hospital I had him at had a baby stolen in 2008 and I was NOT going to let my brand new son be taken anywhere! If they took him for any testing/checkup, etc- my DH went with them.

We checked in 8pm on Sunday, had DD noon on Monday, and checked out 4pm on Tuesday. I had a complication-free vaginal birth. We asked to go home Tuesday morning, but I think we could have stayed longer if we wanted.
3 nights. Had her on a Thursday afternoon, checked out Sunday afternoon.
I'm very pro-natural birth, we took Bradley classes, hired a doula, the whole nine yards. Then I ended up with a c-section because she was breech and we couldnt get her to turn. And honestly, I couldnt have been happier with my hospital stay. The nurses were very respectful of my wishes and pretty much left us alone the entire time. DD was only out of the room one time for about 15 minutes the entire time we were there.

DD was born at 2:17pm and we were out of the hospital and on our way home by 2:30pm the next day. I would have left earlier but they had to do a blood test at 23 hours old. I was ready to go home right after I had her! I had a very early labor and delivery and I felt great afterwards.
Actually the night we got home from the hospital we went out to dinner.
30 hours after giving birth.
Edit: I went in on Monday morning at 5:00am for my induction and left on Tuesday at 2:30pm.
OMGosh that's crazy! At our hospital, all the babies had sensor tags on their bands and if they went past a certain point the alarm would go off and all the doors would lock. I went past the sensor once with her :::face palm:::
Sorry, I'm in a pissy mood apparently. I read this as one of those "if you didn't want to deliver at home, you are the devil" posts. Clearly that isn't how you intended it.

I checked in at 8:00 am on Wednesday had DD on Thrusday at 12:00pm wasnt discharged untill Saturday at 1:00pm.
DD was in the room with me the majority of the time other then for her check-ups.
I checked in for induction at 7am on a Weds., had DD at 3 that afternoon. Dr. signed my d/c on Fri. morning, but Pedi wanted DD to wait for her 48 hour bilirubin before d/c'ing her due to jaundice. We got the okay to leave at 4pm Friday afternoon, but had to take DD back for labs the next day.
My experience was great and I felt very comfortable with my Dr. and nurses. Although I did choose to go with a solo practicioner so that I knew I would have him!
Short version: 6:30am Monday until mid afternoon Sunday.
Long version: We arrived at 6:30am on Monday to be induced (for medical reasons) but ended up with an emergency c-section at 9pm that same evening. We would have been discharged Thursday morning, but W was taken to the NICU on Wednesday night. My doctor had me stay without discharging me for another day because of this too, so I wasn't discharged until Friday. The hospital then let us stay free of charge in a spare room so I could go to the NICU every 3 hours to BF. W was discharged on Sunday afternoon, and that's when we all packed up and went home.
2 days. I thought I was only there for 24 hours, but my OB has his patients stay 2 days where as others only have their patients stay 24 hours.
