Back pain and passing out...

At about 4:30am I woke up with severe lower back pain only on the right side of my back. Everytime I wake up I realize I have to go pee so I got up to go to the bathroom and it hurt a million times worse! Our bathroom is seriously right by our bedroom so I didn't have to walk far but by the time I got to the bathroom I was dizzy, sweating like crazy, and starting to black out!! I laid down on the bathroom floor and just tried to keep myself from passing out. When I started to come back around I yelled to wake my husband up.

I laid there for about 15 minutes and the pain went away. I am going to call my doctor as soon as they open but I am so scared!!! Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Yes I have... actually I experienced this before I was pregnant as well.  It ended up being a UTI.  Then I experienced this again at work the other day... another UTI.  Actually this is the second one since becoming pregnant, but the first one I just suspected something was up.  The second one I got really hot and dizzy at work and couldn't stand up any more.  The doctor had me come in and did blood work and a urine specimen and though my keytones were gone, there was blood and bacteria in my urine.  I am just hoping it's not a kidney stone, that was the result of the infection from before I was pregnant!

Good luck to you and call your doctor, it could be nothing or it could be something.  My doctor has had me come in every time I have called so far.

Of course, the doctor said none of this is affecting the baby at this point.  She's so funny she says things like "baby says 'mama are you sick?  I don't feel it..'"

This sounds like a kidney infection or a UTI. Please call your doctor and stay hydrated.

Thanks ladies!! I really hope it's just a UTI or something! My doctor's office opens in 20 minutes and I called into work today so I am hoping she has me come in just to calm me down! I'll keep you all posted when I find out more!

Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and atleast one cup of cranberry juice a day. Cranberry juice will make sure no bacteria can live in your urinary tract and cause this pain.

I agree with the others sounds like a UTI or kidney infection. Push the fluids and try to get some rest while you wait to call your doctor. With my first pregnancy I had a few UTI and they suck but are not to big of deal. Kidney infection I had before I was ever pregnant and those are no fun and hurt. Really push the fluids and cranberry juice can be a lifesaver.

it sounds like something i have heard before, but also something that required medical attention. i think calling the doctor is a good idea. feel better!

This is how DH gets when he has kidney stones. I'd imagine it's either a UTI or kidney infection like others have said. Hopefully they can give you something to clear it up soon.
