Let's talk bras

With my swelling boobs, my bras are getting annoying. I'm constantly trying to get comfortable, the underwires are bothering me, and I feel like I'm practically busting out.

I think I'm starting to outgrow them, but not quite up to the next cup yet. Ugh.

Anyone else?

Re: Let's talk bras

  • I'm still wearing the bras I wore before getting KU'd, but they're starting to border on "indecent" - the underwires don't touch my body anymore and if I pull my shoulders back I'm way out there.

The next size up still doesn't properly for me, either. I think this weekend I'm going to dedicate an afternoon to searching for half-sizes.

I see your 'ugh' and raise you a 'bleh.'

  • I am also between sizes and the only bras I have found that give proper support at this stage are once with padding.. I know.. we don't need anymore help in that department.. but it helps fill the cup just enough for them to be comfortable and helps the underwire not stab into you.

  • Have you gone in to be measured?  I thought I was maaaaybe in need of a new bra, but was still wearing my old.  It wasn't terribly uncomfortable, but I figured I'd check to see if I had indeed gone up a cup size...annnnnnnd, I measured up TWO cup sizes.  I bought four new bras (they were buy 3 get one free) and have been so happy in them since.  I'd recommend getting measured.  It was also recommended to me by friends to go for nursing bras when you do get new ones...so I was fitted at Motherhood and got all nursing bras.  I'm thrilled with them, and they were about $18 a piece.

  • $18.00  a piece?!?!?! holy moly! Do they have ginormous as a size cause I'm already passed a FF. As of now my bras are over 100.00 each. ugh it kills me to buy bras that will only fit for a few months since I'm still growing. Is it possible for the baby to be in there? lol

I don't recall what size they go to.  I needed an E cup (up from a C).  I would call motherhood and check though.  I typically pay so much more than $18 for a regular bra, so to get a nursing bra that is comfortable and that will last until I outgrow it, and then again when their deflating later on...made me happy.  GL.

  • Thanks ladies, I think I'll get measured this weekend. I'm starting to get the "double boob" look if you know what I mean. *embarrassing*

  • I can honestly say I never knew what the point of a supportive bra was until now.  I also now know that feeling of wanting to take off your bra the second you get home because it hurts!

I'm wearing my "fat" bras from when I was bigger a few years ago and those don't fit exactly right.  I'm about to buy a few new ones.

I know when I was pregnant with DD, I couldn't fit any of the Motherhood bras. I think I'm like, a 36G now during pregnancy. Can't wait til the milk comes in....eek.

  • I can't find it online, but when I was on vacation recently I found a boutique with these cute bras that are halfway between a camisole and a sports bra, but don't give you unaboob. They were marked "one size" and so I was sure they wouldn't fit (I'm an XS/0) but they totally are doing the trick. They have no underwire but do have thin pads that help give structure to the bra. So far, they're very comfortable and supportive. The tag says "Anemone" and they were only $12 each! I wore a 32 B/C to begin with, and these are working well for me as I'm sure it's a little premature to spend money on bras yet since I'm only 15 weeks.

  • I am still in my regular bras, on the last clip and with the straps as big as they can go and I am spilling out over here.

My mom asked me about bras the other day cuz she is dying to buy me something, so I am hoping she gets me a couple new maternity bras.

I bought a sleep bra, that is also for nursing, and it's terrible.
