Had 4 month Dr appt yesterday and LO weighed 18 lb 7 ozs and was 25 inches long. 98% and 86th percent. The variance in these percentages spurred our pedi to say we need to cut his amount of formula back from about 40+ to 32.
Should be a really fun week in combination with 4 month wakeful. F this.
Re: 4 Month old on "diet" WTF
If your LO is eating that much, maybe he is ready for some solids. My pedi told me that since C is getting close to the maximum of 36oz, she may need more of an intake of solids each day. She currently gets 33oz a day.
Good luck.
Yes, I agree with PP about solids.
I would get a second option before I put my infant on a "diet".
I agree with starting solids and see if that helps, but I would not deny a hungry baby food.
same thing just happned to me, so we asked about solids, and started him a few days ago. since then, hes only taking one formula bottle, instead of the usual two (hes mostly BF, but we supplement) but, really, hes 4 months old, the way i see it, if hes hungry, hes hungry, im not going to NOT feed him if thats what he wants.
our pedi even told me to not feed him when he wakes up in the middle of the night, and basically told me to let him CIO- sorry, not going to happen
This is exactly what I was going to say. I always try to remember that the pedi is giving recommendations but you are the parent and I'm sure you know if your baby is eating too much. But, hey I'm not an expert either.
