Success after IF

F/U for Disneyland

Thanks to all that posted with your tips. It is scary how little I know about the Land, when I am a Disney World pro, having been there so much.

I know a lot of you were local who posted, but I am wondering if anyone had hotel recs for in the area? We decided not to do a Disney Hotel, we rather stay outside and save $$$ then have "convenience" and "magic" since we will need a car anyway to go back and forth to see my sister.

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Re: F/U for Disneyland

  • We stayed at the Residence Inn.  It was the #1 bus and the only stop for the bus to get to the park.  The room was less than $100/night.  Owned by Marriott.  Served a full hot breakfast and weekdays served dinner too.  The room was nice but nothing special.  It did have a full kitchen and the bedroom was its own room so we didnt have to go to bed when the boys did.  We would totally stay there again.

  • I don't know... Anaslime (Anaheim) isn't my favorite city so I would lean toward staying at the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian.  Not sure what the price difference is, though.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

Over $100 a night it is looking like.

  • When we don't stay on property we stay at the Sheraton Anaheim, around the corner from Disneyland, but has a free shuttle. It's very nice.

  • Hilton and Hyatt are nice (they *may* be considered Garden Grove, but they are close to Disney) and they have shuttle access.

Parking at disney is $15 per car a day, and a lot of the hotels have shuttle/bus service that isn't free, but like $4 a day.

Use Priceline and get a name your own price room, unless you want soemthing specific (pool, gym, breakfast, internet) because they won't tell you that fact till after you book.

If you are driving anyways... stay further out of the area (Orange, Costa Mesa, ect. because the rates will be much cheaper than anything near Disney)

  • Google map any hotel options for SURE and it should be RIGHT on Harbor (road in front of Disney) - preferably in the center of Harbor....with a free shuttle. Do not venture off into a side road. You won't get murdered or anything but its not the best city.

I lived there for over a year - everyone calls it Ana-crime. Can be high robbery rate near DL if you get into a non-populated area. Shuttling from hotel is safer than even driving a car and parking in DL parking (its FAR from the park + tram + walking + no security really).
