Double Strollers- Anyone have the BabyTrend Sit N Stand?

Here it is on amazon:

A woman in my Mom's Group just emailed me and asked me if I wanted it.  She just bought it and apparently her infant seat doesn't fit in it.  I believe the description of the stroller says "Fits Most Infant Seats".   I guess hers didn't make the cut.

Anyone have this stroller?  Or know anyone that does?   Tell me the good, the bad and the ugly about it.

Of course I don't know if my infant seat will fit in it (but would like to try).  I don't plan to use the "Stand" part of it for quite some time, so I'd prefer Nicholas in the front seat and Ava in the back part in her infant carrier.

Thanks!

Re: Double Strollers- Anyone have the BabyTrend Sit N Stand?

  • I have a version of this stroller.  On mine the infant carrier actually fits on the front seat.  The cup holder comes off and you attach another bar that cradles and holds the infant carrier and then the baby is facing you, although a bit far away since the older child is behind them.   I had no trouble getting ours to fit securely.

I really liked that there was an actual back seat.  I didn't use that for very long because my son got too old but I think with a younger older child that is a good option to have.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

is it hard to manuever?  I may ask her if i can check it out- to see if my infant seat will fit in it and maybe also put Nicholas in it to see how that works.

  • I have the double elite and even with the extras... I hate it. The baby has to go on the front and she seemed so far away, the front seat - when used - constantly falls to recline position. It doesn't drive smoothly and don't even think about taking a curb.It might fall apart. For an inexpensive stroller, it works but you def get what you pay for IMO.  Storage is also a problem. Wish I had better things to say about it. I had high hopes when I bought it.

Is the double elite the same as what I linked?  It looks like it got great reviews.  And the woman in my Mom's group says that the infant seat can go in the front or the back.   Why is storage a problem?  Is it hard to fold up and get back into your car?

  • It's obviously harder to manuever than a single stroller but I didn't think it was too bad.  I also thought it was fairly easy to collapse.  It is big, however, like it would take up my entire trunk (I have a Chrysler Sebring).
