Follow up from dr appointment yesterdays post

Well went in to see the doctor today and he is not pleased with my weight loss and put me in the hospital.  Said I will be here at least over night. Said he doesn't think the PICC line is necessary because they aren't having that bad of a time starting my IV and drawing blood. So I'm just gonna rest up I guess.  Thank you all for the kind words.

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad and have to go to the hospital.

If you do have to get a PICC line, it really isn't that bad.  I had one for IV antibiotics back in 2006.  Make sure to ask for a "high placement" (i.e., high on the arm above the elbow) and it really doesn't interfere with your day to day activities.  You just have to be careful when you shower.  The benefit of a PICC is that you don't have to keep getting stuck.  It's a one time thing. 

I suspect they will try a few days of regular iv hydration first though.

Sorry you had to end up in the hospital. Hopefully just a day or 2 of some IV fluids will help.

Thank you very much for the kind words ladies!  I am doing alright and they have been listening to baby on the dopplar an heart beat is nice and strong! I was actually able to take a nap today being here I haven't had a nap in a long time!
