it is not helpful when...

both of your kids fall asleep ON you to nap. I have an hour of quiet time but I can't move, feed myself or get anything done.

They are so off kilter after we were OOT (funeral) last week. I really hope this endless crying, sleeping on mommy phase ends soon.

Did anyone else notice that their kids got more clingy for a while? They just want to be next to me, on me, touching me when they nap. It's sweet, but kind of maddening.

  • Yes - the boys tend to go thru phases of clinging-ness.  It comes and goes, I'm not sure why.  Right now, Harry is in a HUGE daddy phase.  Daddy and Zoe (his DCP) are huge rock stars, mommy is good for food (we don't even bf!).

I love your new siggie pics!  So snuggly!

  • Mine do, but right now they're more interested in Daddy. He's funnier to look at I guess. Haha. They laugh and laugh when he plays with them. They grab at his face, mouth and goatee. I think they're sick of me right now. They see my mug all day everyday.

  • i know it's hard when you are stuck- but trust me- you WILL miss that... it will become a VERY rare occasion to have two sleeping on you at once... as they get bigger, it just doesn't happen much at all.

I got 10 minutes of my boys both snuggling on me at one time about a month ago and I thought about how nice it was for DAYS.... with my singleton we had tons of snuggle naps - but not with the twins- so i COVET the time I can actually get them both sleeping on me at the same time.

  • Mine did that at every single feeding on the twin nursing pillow (at that age).  When they were that little, I had to adjust to the fact that my place was in bed with babies 24/7.  I'm still coming out of that fog......

  • My twins were never like that, but having DS1 to run around after kind of forced them to be more independent.  When DS1 was 8m and younger, we laid in bed together for his naps everyday.  I nursed him to sleep for naps and bedtime and if I tried to get up, he'd wake just a few minutes later.  It was actually really nice because it forced me to slow down, rest, and enjoy him instead of being productive.
