I say toddler b/c I think most people, by nature, are touchy-feely with babies.
Are you affectionate with your toddler? I've been realizing lately how affectionate I am...not only hugs/kisses, but stroking his hair, his hand, his face...lots of loving touches. He seems to like it. I sure hope so! Otherwise, I'd feel bad for putting him through it.
I have always enjoyed this kind of physical contact...my parents were loving and very generous with hugs, but I craved more. It's just who I am, by nature. My grandmother always played with my hair and tickled my back and I LOVED it. Could have sat in her lap all day. So, I naturally do this to Cal. Obviously, at some later age it'll not be cool anymore. I think it's totally fine for now, and I have to assume if he didn't like it, he would make that clear. But he's a pretty affectionate kid, so I'm not surprised. (plus, he & I both have Cancer moons, for you astrology fanatics!).
Re: Are you touchy-feely with your toddler?
Oh I am definitely touchy feely with Nicholas. I can't get enough hugs and kisses and tickles. He is not really cuddly anymore for naps or bedtime. Storytime used to be him sitting in my lap while I read. Now storytime is him sitting on the floor playing with something while I read a book. I pick him up all the time and just hug him sooooo tight. I know I probably shouldn't be lifting him as much as I do, but I can't help it.
We're both very touchy-feely with the twins. Lots of hugs kisses, holding, patting them on the back...
We've noticed they do it back quite frequently too so they must enjoy it. Now when we ask for a hug or sometimes if we pick one up, they'll hold onto us and sometimes pat OUR backs. It's completely heart-melting!
Very much so. DD is an extremely cuddly, loving little girl. I hope she stays that way! She always wants to sit on my lap, and accepts all hugs/kisses and gives them back. She is constantly kissing her toys and the dog
I want her to be a loving child and feel loved by us. While I know this goes beyond physical touching, it's a big part of it. Plus I just love her so much I can't help myself
Our beautiful son was born July 2008.
2010: 2 IVF's,1 FET = 2 BFN's, 1 c/p
Feb 2011-Unmedicated FET= BFP!! DS #2 born Oct 2011!!.
Absolutely- with both kids. Even the teacher at daycare tells me that ds is the most affectionate and sweet kid and she can tell he gets a lot of hugs at home because he loves hugging and telling his feelings. I love that.
Of course, dh says he wishes I was as affectionate to him as I am towards my kids. Oops!
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
I could pretty much have written your post, word for word. Every single bit of it. So, yes. I am most definitely touchy-feely.
