the semi-healthy one I make for DS almost every day (he's a super picky eater so this is an easy way to get him protein/fruit) is I puree about 6-7 strawberries, a little bit of milk (1/4 c maybe?) and a packet of chocolate carnation instant bfast mix--then I add a scoop or 2 of vanilla ice cream. I've also added a dollop of pb before. He always sucks it down.

I always use frozen fruit. Trader Joes always has a good selection and are the cheapest around for a bag- strawberries, mango, and pineapple bits are the best. Its the best because you dont have to use ice cubes which water it down a bit and its cheaper than buying a bunch of fresh fruit that go bad quickly.
Adding low/non fat greek yogurt is great for added protein & calcium and you only need about 1/2 cup.
If I am making it as a meal I put in 1/4 c of steel cut oats for the fiber and fullness effect.
If you add a bit of light coconut milk it really gives the smoothie a tropical flavor without adding too much fat or sugar and it stays well in the fridge.
Blending in a banana is the best way to get that smoothie texture.
*I just made myself crave a smoothie, guess i know what I am making for snack tonight.*

My favorite is frozen mango, strawberries, and pineapple from Trader Joes, half of a frozen banana (we buy tons of bananas, and freeze any that we don't eat), a little yogurt (3oz), mixed with coconut water or orange juice. Nice and tropical!

I am an addict when it comes to smoothies. I use my magic bullet every day! If you like mangoes, definitely do a mango smoothie - doesn't get better than that. I also like a peach/blueberry combo (sounds weird, but it's really good). Strawberries are easy to mix in and so are frozen bananas. I keep a tupperware in the freezer with frozen mango chunks, strawberries, peach chunks, and peeled cut up bananas.
My usual recipe is 1-1 1/2 cups fruit (frozen), about 4 ice cubes, one yogurt (vanilla goes with everything, but it's fun to add peach, orange, strawberry or blueberry flavors to mix it up), 1/2-3/4 cup milk (vanilla soy is my fav) --- may need to add more if it's not blending, sometimes I add unflavored protein powder... and that's all it takes. Healthy!!! DH likes orange juice in his instead of the milk. Have fun!!!! Mmmmmm

Strawberries, blueberries, and milk with a little bit of sugar if it needs it

My typical go-to is: ice cubes, frozen fruit of some kind, 2 handfuls of spinach, a 6 ounce yogurt and juice.
For a snack I like: ice cubes, a banana, a little vanilla yogurt, chocolate milk and a dollop of peanut butter.
