ugh. between pajama sizing. (PIP)

The girls are too big for Carter's 12 month jammies, but too small for 18 months.   This is what happens when we put them in size 18 months.  Yep, one arm out and two legs in one hole.  We find her like this in the morning, and it kinda freaks me out though she can still roll over (but can't stand up).

What do you do when they are between sizes?  I really don't want to cut the feet off.  What brand of jammies do you guys like?

  • I use carters, but I have found that the ones that are all cotton, shrink more and fit better than the polyester ones and fleece ones. We found some of the all cotton ones at a carters outlet.  Not sure if that helps.

  • Agree with you. The 18 month cotton ones fit them fine because they shrunk!  Maybe it's time to put them back in the cotton ones.  I wish they were old enough to sleep with blankets...

  • houdini girl!

i'd go with 2-piece PJs - put a onsie underneath if you want more warmth... and/or use a sleep sack, too.

  • They hate sleep sacks.  And I don't own a single onesie.  LOL.  I am a mess.

  • I know Carters cotton 1 pieces are made to fit snugly since they aren't fire resistant and they have never been able to wiggle out of them.

  • I like the old navy or gap two piece cotton pj's.  For some reason, the carters ones always seemed too tight around their wrists and I had the hardest time pulling their hands through.

It is cold here so I put on the carters fleece sleeper over the pj's.  Neither of the girls uses a blanket either.  When it gets warmer, then we just use the the two pj's and socks.

How do you not own any onesies?  I'm a onesie whore, I have a drawer full of onesies for each size.

  • I love the gymboree cotton 2 piece pjs.  I just sometimes worry about their little toes getting cold...

Ours sleep with blankets already. Its cold here, even with jammies on. I have to admit that they've slept with blankets and stuffed animals since they were 10 months old Embarrassed

  • That is hilarious, and I would kind of freak out too if I walked in to that in the morning.  I sooo overdress my girls for bed.  Nights like tonight they are wearing a t-shirt (or onesie), Carter's fleece pjs like yours, and a Halo fleece sleep sack.  They have blankets in with them, but don't cover themselves yet.

I have cut feet out of pj's before.

Too bad they hate sleep sacks.  Can you do onesies under the cotton footie pjs, or even a short/t-shirt pj, with socks?

  • We use blankets.  But, they usually end up on  top of them.

Us too.Embarrassed  I started letting the girls use a blanket two weeks ago and they've done great.

Regarding onesies....I'm glad to hear that someone else doesn't have onesies! I just  bought a pack of 4 last week because my mother was APALLED that I didn't have a whole mess of them.

Also my girls easily wiggle out of the Carter's cotton footie PJs.  I think they stretch easily....I often go to the crib and find one of them with their arm completely out.

So I have no solution.  I was going to move them to 2 piece PJs now that they're growing out of the Carter 9 months.

  • Thanks, girls.  I might have to bite the bullet and get 2-pc jammies.  It's warm upstairs where they sleep, so they'll be fine, but there's something so cute about footed fleece PJs... sigh.  ;)

Ever since the girls were like 5 months old, I just stopped liking onesies.  I preferred them in shirts instead.
