So DD's actually been doing pretty well with potty training. We've been doing lots of naked and big girl undies time and she isn't really having too many accidents at this point. However, I'm still putting her in diapers for naptime and bedtime and if we go out and instead of going in the potty, she waits until she has a diaper on. When she does go in the potty, I give lots of praise and marshmallows. I offer the potty and get her to sit on it throughout the day and before I put a diaper on her.
Any suggestions? Should I just cut the diapers entirely, assuming she'll wet her bed a few times before she gets it?
Re: Potty training advice?
If you feel ready, cut the diapers. We did keep DD in nighttime diapers for about a month after she was 'day' trained, but you could go to the thicker cloth training pants for naps to help cut down on bed wetting.
dipes and pullups confuse the heck out of kids.
Just set yourself up for easy bed changes (couple of sheets, with a thick towel between each, super easy to change/whip off) and go for it.
Ava has had less than a handful of accidents in a year, always when she's busy playing and I forget to remind her to go to the ladies room ;-)
Yeah, that's what I was thinking...she's currently going through a bit of a sleep regression (I think it's teething plus all the learning she's been doing lately), so I'm going to wait that out first and then make the full switch.
