Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Ok, I'm puzzled- any ideas?

DD is grabbing her ears (well not quite grabbing, just constantly touching) and refusing to nurse.

She has been seen by the pedi. twice in the past week, no ear infection.

I don't see teeth close to the surface.

Help!! ??

  • DS started doing this, I thought ear infection/teeth. He had n other symptoms so I just kept a close eye on it and realized he only does it when he is tired.

  • Wesley tugs his ears when he is tired.  I'm sorry I'm not much help.

  • The tired thing makes sense... she could be refusing to nurse because she is overtired.

    Thanks!

  • Check the palms of her hands and the bottom of her feet for a rash.  My DS was doing the same thing turned out to be hand, foot, and mouth diseases. He never developed the rash but he had a few sores in the back of his mouth that caused him to not want to eat. There is nothing you can do to cure it, its viral. You can only treat the symptoms. Tylenol helped. I hope she doesn't have it. GL
