Moms.. no burping at night

F/U up to Night feedings. Some of you stated you don't burp at night? DD fell asleep while eating, though finishing bottle, I held her for a while, trying to burp and nothing.. it was like almost an hour, so I put her down.. only to get woken up my her spitting up. So, if you don't burp... they don't spit up? Sometimes I try to burp her as long as I can for the fear of the spitting up...Sometimes I'd love not to burp her because it takes a while.

Re: Moms.. no burping at night

  • Spit-up isn't evil. It happens sometimes, even when he does burp--during the day or at night.

  • If she burps, she burps.   I'm not going to wake her / keep her up to burp.   She's spit up very few times, burp or no burp.

I agree, I burped DS this morning and he burped twice, then proceeded to spit up.  Sometimes he burps, sometimes he doesn't.

  • i don't burp him if he falls asleep, and DS usually doesn't spit up.  then again, he doesn't spit up often anyway.  even if he did, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
  • We do not burp DS with his bedtime bottle because he falls asleep. He has never spit up in his sleep or after his bedtime bottle at all. But all other feedings we burp and we spit up a ton, I have no idea why it works out this way but I'm very happy that he does not spit up at night.
