Just got back from the genetics counselor

I feel much better about everything. Just a recap: on Monday we had our NT scan and the results came back 2.7 mm which is elevated. The doctor then scared the crap out of us, although I'm sure she didn't mean to.

Today we got our blood results back and found out that our chances for T21 (Downs) is 1 in 3,000 and our chance for T18 is 1 in 10,000. I'm feeling much better with these odds and decided against the CVS test which we would have had to do today. We're going to do the second round of blood work and then look at those along with the fetal echo to see if we want the amnio at 16 weeks.

Great news!! I'm sorry your OB scared the crap out of you and caused you undue stress, but at least you have answers now.

Hope you have a stress-free pregnancy going forward!

I'm so glad for you! I didn't the NT scan because of various reasons (worrying about potentially bad results was one of them) Go relax!

Those are great odds, hon! Congrats. I think it's a good idea to skip the CVS in this case too....the risks of that scare me! Good luck with your future bloodwork, too!
