And my FIL is Fred Sanford. My husband Lamont just called me all excited and told me he and his dad got a great deal on sap buckets to make maple syrup. That would be awesome if our house wasn't surrounded by PINE trees...I asked where they planned on hanging these sap buckets to which he replied "I don't know yet". Um...they are a little behind on the sap gathering game first of all. Secondly, there is a huge 4 door freezer sitting in the back yard taking up space that they bought about a year ago with the bright idea they were going to convert it into a meat smoker.  Next to said freezer is a fixer-upper smoker/grill to bbq chicken or a small hog in that was bought about a year ago also. They had big plans for this too. I'm not even going to start on the garage. I'm thinking I'm going to have a sign made for the front yard advertising my junk - I mean unique finds. Think I will have any takers?

Hahahahaha...Sounds like my DH and my FIL (and my dad, come to think of it).  Years ago, DH and FIL had this bright idea to start growing their own shiitake mushrooms in the backyard using these moldy old logs.  Last year when cleaning out the attic during my nesting phase, I found a couple of the old dried out logs.  I guess DH wanted to keep them as a souvenir after he realized that the mushroom-growing idea wasn't taking off.  Don't get me started on all the other junk they have accumulated between the two of them. 

And my dad has a collection of various contraptions, like juicers, machines to make his own beef jerky, beer, etc.  He keeps those "As Seen on TV" companies in business.  He even used to keep bees to make his own honey, despite the fact that my mom and I are violently allergic to their stings.
