NT Scan....not really

So DH and I went in for our NT Scan yesterday. I was 13w 3days so we were cutting it close. The tech started the ultrasound and it was incredible. We got to see the baby's heartbeat (157 bpm and very strong) both arms and legs and the fingers and toes! When she started taking the measurements I noticed them at the bottom of the screen. Well, turns out I'm actually 15weeks along! 

The tech said that as soon as she saw the baby she knew we were too far along but wanted to make sure. While I am a little sad we couldnt get the scan done, we are happy that we got to see our little one. Luckily, with our age, our chances are already 1/1000 so we are not incredibly worried. It would have been nice to have that extra assurance though

That's kinda nice you got an extra 2 weeks added on. Well, I'd think it was good anyways. Plus, always good to see the LO.

Thats how DH and I look at it. It was our first ultrasound. DH was hoping and asked if they could tell gender yet. Her response was "Well, I don't see any boy parts but I don't want to say girl this early yet." Plus, the baby crossed its legs. 

I'm looking at it as "We have pictures, we got to see the baby, it seems healthy...we are happy" DH was tearing up during it

Same thing happened to me. I am Type A / neurotic, I schedule the appt for the day I could have it done. We get in there and the tech starts the ultrasound and tells me that I waited to the last minute to have it done, I said that this is the earliest I could have it done then she asks me how far along I think I am and I tell her and she tells me honey add 2 and 1/2 weeks. I almost fell off the table.

Well, kind of exciting that you get to fast forward a couple of weeks!  Glad you get to see your healthy baby, even if the scan didn't exactly work out like you planned
