I've found the cause of M's inability to nap...

badly timed pees and poos.

He's tired and fusses so I put him to sleep. He can't sleep cuz he's wet so I change him. He's made wide awake by the change so we hang till he's sleepy, then he poops... and so on.

$%^&%! I'm at the end of my tether! Several days of this crap now. I just want him to do his business then take a 2 hour long nap like he used to.

He can't sleep if he's peed???  Then how on earth does he sleep all night long? Maybe he's fussing for a different reason than a wet diaper.  But the poop thing I totally get, Simon (aka Sir Craps A Lot) poops 4-5 times a day and we've been having the same problem with naps lately.  Hope Mikey goes back to napping soon!

M won't fall asleep if she is wet/dirty either.  We usually know if she doesn't go to sleep within 10-15 minutes and is still talking/playing in her crib.  So we go in and check her diaper, change if needed, and put her right back in her crib.  Maybe the "hanging out til he's sleepy" part is what he likes 

... granted it does not always work- this weekend, she did not nap either day - still have no clue why not...  GL!

IDK. Wed CD so he notices it more when he's wet. We've assumed that he makes it through the night because he can go longer without peeing now.

IDK. Wed CD so he notices it more when he's wet. We've assumed that he makes it through the night because he can go longer without peeing now.

And I love "Sir Craps Lot." We call M many versions of "Poopie McStinks."

Maddie does the same thing - in fact, she did it today. It might be a CD thing with the wet dipes.
