Taking amoxicillin while PG

I have bronchitis. I went to see my ob today and he gave me a script for amoxicillin. I know he wouldn't make me take something that could hurt my babies. And (of course) I googled it and it seems safe to take. Just wondering if anyone has had to take it? TIA.

I don't know about amoxicillan but I just got put on a z-pak today for a sinus infection which is another antibiotic. I called my OB yesterday before going to my primary care physician this morning and she said that there is really just one type of antibiotic that should not be taken by pregnant women but its not commonly prescribed. I can't remember the name but it wasn't amoxicillan. I wouldn't worry but you may want to call your OB just to make sure.

I took it a few weeks ago, it was fine.  It actually helped my constipation. Feel better.

I wasn't prescribed amoxicillin because of a penicillin allergy.  Though the doctor said that's what they typically prescribe for pregnant women.  They had to prescribe keflex for my UTI.

i have not. however, i have an auto-immune skin disease and had to take very serious medication before getting pregnant (and then had to wait a while before trying to get pregnant, consequently.) anyway, when discussing it with my ob she said i could take amoxicillin to try to combat it if i have a flar eup while pregnant. she said there is an entire list of mild and safe drugs and thats on it.

Yep, just got put on a week course today for a nasty sinus infection. My family dr. prescribed it and I called & confirmed it with my OB. She referred to amoxicillin as being "very safe"....take your antibiotic, feel better and don't worry

yep, I am taking it right now for my strep throat and my OB said it was perfectly fine for me to take...it sure is a horse pill though

I took it for a UTI several weeks ago.  No problems, although the smell of them made me nauseous.

Yes, it's completely safe.  I just finished a 10-day course of it.

I was on it twice in the space of a month during my 1st tri with DS--I got strep throat

On it right now for a UTI.  Every doctor and pharmacist I talked to said that it was safe.  I figure that the benefits outweigh the risks in my situation.
