IVF Question

I've seen a few people post that their IVF cycles have been cancelled. When a cycle is cancelled does it count as an actual cycle or do you get to cycle again?

 H and I are completely OOP. I understand we would be out the cost of meds, but would hope that we wouldn't be out the cost of the actual IVF cycle.

We had to pay for the additional meds, ultrasounds, and blood work. But not for the retrieval and transfer.

At my clinic if you are cancelled any time before ER you owe the actual cost of the u/s and b/w or $2100.  Whichever is less.  I found that not all clinics have a cancellation policy.  Not sure how it works on a shared risk plan.

Thanks for the info. I will be sure to ask the clinic how they handle cancellations.

I know embryology is like 30% of the cost of our IVF cycle, so if you get canceled/converted to IUI before the ER, then that cuts a huge amount of cost, including ER, surgery fees, anesthesia, etc.

I should add that with my first ivf cycle I went to retrievel but did not get to transfer and my RE reimbursed me around 2k.   A little less then a quarter of the entire cost minus meds of course.
