I keep thinking about the beautiful photo/video montage you did for ava's second year. how did you do it? if I get some "down-time" (yeah, right) I'd like to do something similar with the 16,000+ photos I have of little gig gin. would you mind sharing your secret?

it's really not that hard, just takes a ton of time to sort and prep.

I just did hers by season, b/c that's how I folder up her piks. You can sort to month, or whatever you want. This year I vow to organize better, b/c I had videos everywhere, unsorted, and piks in the wrong season, it was a mess. I made that while I was stoned on my post-D&C cruise from hell. het het.  (I don't really keep a baby book for her, just make these "year in reviews" and an occassional artscow hardcover book highlighting something like a trip or the summer, etc.

The files have to be all in one place and STAY there with your music, graphics, etc. while you make the video - don't move them until it's totally done and rendered (final save). Then you plunk them into windows movie maker or imovies, or even one true media online, but I think they charge to make it into a DVD?  I use Pinnacle for my client work (a pro-editing software) or WMM for quick jobs.
