If you've had hemorrhoids - a question. Might be TMI

Sorry, this might be TMI for some of you but Dr. Google couldn't explicitly answer my questions and just freaked me out with pictures of people with some serious hemorrhoidal issues.

I've had two children and managed to never get a hemorrhoid but now I suspect I might have them.  For those of you that have experienced them, does this sound look hemorrhoids?

I don't have any pain when going to the bathroom but I do feel more pressure in my anal area than usual when I need to.  I also feel some slight pressure just walking around doing normal activities.  It's also a uncomfortable (like the area feels swollen and tender) when I sit on a hard surface.  The weirdest thing was that sex was a little painful over the weekend if any pressure got put on that area.

What are the treatments?  Should I see a doctor?  I know nothing about hemorrhoids.

  • hmmm hard to say.  I didn't have an from pregnancy, but I got a whopping one after pushing.  And oh  boy did it hurt.  Honestly, if it doesn't burn or itch, I'm not sure what you do about it aside from take stool softeners.  The less you have to strain that area, the better.  But if you're concerned, go ahead and make that appt.

  • I pushed for 3hrs with DS, so the result is flaming hemorrhoids that act up from time to time.  What you're describing sounds like it could be hemorrhoids.  When mine are really flared up, it definitely hurts to sit, and when they're really bad, I have prescription suppositories that I have to use for a few days.  I think I'd probably invest in a dr appt if I were you.  Then you'll know for sure what you're dealing with, and if it is hemorrhoids, you can get the Rx for the suppositories (annucort) if needed.

  • I didn't get them until I pushed either. I'm an investigator myself so I had a mirror and I felt around to see. They felt like boils (not feverish) and I was given a stool softener and tucks pads to use after I went to the bathroom (1 or 2) and they cleared up pretty quickly. Do you have an advice nurse you can call without going in if you don't have to? Try them out they may be able to help without actually going to the dr. office. GL

  • Sounds like it. I use the creams but really they are supposed to help until it wares off then you have the problem again.

Honestly I put coconut oil on it. Instant relief and they actually help the overall problem!

You can find at health food stores and I'd get organic cold pressed if possible.

  • I didn't get any hemroids while pregnant or pushing and this is gonna sound really funny but could it be a pimple? I have had random pimples show up on my booty like near the crack the kind that are just a big red bump. You know the under the skin kind. I have no idea why and it's only been a few times but it hurts! If I were you I would grab a mirror and take a look.

  • I was going to say pimple possibly. I know that seems weird but they can show up anyplace and one there would hurt like crazy, esp under pressure. get a mirror and peek. regardless I'd gets some tucks pads, wipe the area then leave a few there so they work their majic while you go about your day, just change them every time you go to the bathroom.
  • It doesn't sound like it to me. My hemmies and fissure have cause me lots of pain going the bathroom and after going the bathroom and sometimes bleeding occurs. I could go on but I will spare you the details. "pressure" isn't a word that I would describe for what I have experienced. Anyways I hope you figure it out. GL
