headaches :(

I have been getting them so frequently lately. I definately need to look into the acupuncture and a few other things you ladies recommend. They come like everyother day if not everyday and then they last an hour and leave and come back. On and off all day long. Its just getting very frustrating. I hate to take tylenol everyday so I dont.

Anyone else experiencing headaches like this? Advice?

Re: headaches :(

  • Yep, I'm getting migraines and I was before being PG too.  I can't take my normal meds and Tylenol does nothing for me.  You may want to talk to your doc because I know some will allow other things like vicotin or some pain meds.  The best thing is sleep, but obviously, that doesn't always work.  It's hard!

  • This has just started for me as well. Some days I will go without having one, yesterday I had it all day long until 4am this morning.. I'm hoping to keep drinking lots of water and a tylenol if it gets bad enough, I'm also going to my chiropractor next week to see if my spine is out of line especially through my neck area. Good luck!

  • I've been getting a lot of headaches too. I think it's normal, especially in the 2nd tri. I think I remember hearing there's a surge of hormones or something. I remember having lots of headaches during the 2nd tri when I was pregnant with DD. It's not fun... I usually take tylenol and drink a diet coke. (In hopes a little caffeine will help!)
  • Tylenol usually doesn't work for me either, prepregnancy the only thing that worked was Excedrine Migraine.

When they get really bad I take Tylenol with a glass of coke (or some kind of caffeinated beverage) The caffeine and antihistamine work together and help with the pain. ...which is essentially what excedrine migraine is minus the asprin.

     Good luck!

  • Headaches over here too.  I'm also getting them almost daily.  I try to hold off as long as possible before I drink some half-caff coffee with some tylenol.

  • Count me in on the headaches! They are getting really bad and I am not a fan.  This morning I didn't have to be into work until 10 and I woke up at 5am because my head was pounding.  Tylenol isn't really doing a damn thing for me.  Doctor appointment tomorrow so I'm going to ask.

  • Yup, headaches here, too. Almost every day since starting second tri.Once I decide I can't stand it any longer or it's lasted too long, I do half a tylenol and a caffeinated beverage.
  • Me too.  My doctor recommended getting massages to loosen up my neck as mine tend to travel up from the neck and hang out in the sinuses.  When my neck is tight, it pulls on my sinus release points, hence the headache.

  • I remember having awful headaches with my last pregnancy. My dr said they are homone related.

This pg, I havent had any really bad headaches, but I think I am much more hydrated this time around, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Regardless hope you feel better soon!

  • Definitely have this problem.  Every day, starting pretty reliably around noon until I go to bed and fall asleep to get some relief.  They are worse than anything I had before I got pregnant.  I have my first PN massage this Friday; I'm really hoping it helps, because nothing (Tylenol, caffeine, water) else seems to.

  • Yep, I get them daily too. I read that they are normal starting at around 12 weeks.

  • I have no advice, but I have been getting them a couple times a day too. I have been drinking plenty of water, so I don't think it is dehydration.

Mine aren't a really strong pain, just kind of an annoying pain in between my eyes.

  • I'm glad to hear this is normal.  I've had one today and one a week or two ago and I was starting to get concerned that it was my blood pressure.
  • I have been having headaches a lot.  Part of it is sinus issues.  I think another part is stress.  I've been trying not to take Tylenol every day, but I usually end up taking it once.  I need to drink more water and try my chiropractor I think... good to know I am not the only one!  Hopefully once the weather gets a little warmer and stays within the same 10 degrees for more than a day, my sinus pressure will calm down.  It was 40 something here yesterday, 15 today, and it'll be 50 by Thursday.  No wonder I have a headache!
  • Same here!! So glad it's not just me.
Talked to my Dr. about it yesterday. She said to keep doing what I've been doing - a lot of water, if I have to Tylenol and I usually will have a coke/pepsi.

I seem to get them every afternoon - back of neck or temples. Not fun.
