Stuffy noses...any advice?

Any advice on helping baby w/ a stuffy nose (no temp)? J has been stuffy on and off for a few days. I use saline, the nasal aspirator, and cool mist humidifier. Poor J is getting mad b/c he can't suck on his bink like he usually does. I feel bad for him :-(.

Have a call in to the pedi. Just wanted to know if I am missing something or if anyone has any advice?

TIA

Really you are doing everything. Maybe try running a hot shower, take LO in there and close the door and steam for 20min--- it should help loosen it pretty well and you can use the nasal aspirator after... It helped my DD.

When we were at the Pedi's office- she sucked out LO's nose... I realized I wasn't being nearly "mean" enough lol.  I was stopping when the snot stopped coming out, even if I could still "hear" it.

Well she used the saline and put a drop in each side- then sucked.  She did that probably 10 times.  She got some snot, then there were some empty "sucks"... then she got a TON more snot toward the end.  She kept re-dropping saline in between each suction.  Helps loosen up all of that stuff deep in there, I guess!

    Good luck!

My pediatrian gave us a nebulizer, (it was covered under our insurance) with xopenex (pronounce zopenek)

He also suggested we purchase from them the actual machine they used to clean him out..so we did, it is like a vacuum, and my son hates it so much it almost makes me cry, but it works wonders...my husband does this every night.

All this plus...the humidifier and the vicks baby rub....

We do this routine every night and he sleeps through the night... Good Luck

We do the above (although I am going to give the continuous sucking and drops a try. I too stop when nothing comes out) and at night we put his mattress on an incline and put baby vicks on his chest and feet.

Get a Nosefrida.  It's gross but is a total miracle worker.  My DD was so stuffed and the bulb thing just didn't cut it.  This works everytime and is much quicker, so even though she hates it, it's over faster.  I put saline in her nose, wait a minute and then suck all the boogers out.
    Sadie is not impressed.
