False Alarm :(

DH and I headed to L&D about 7pm last night (45 minute drive)   contractions were not extremely painful but were coming every 4-5 minutes so we figure it was time to go...  I was still contracting when we got there and so we were hoping this was it!  Got into a room and hooked up to some monitors.  Baby looked good and contractions were consistant just not as intense as they should be.  The nurse checked me and i was 1.5-2cm dialated.  That was disappointing!  i was 1cm last week so it's some progress but not much.  They decided to monitor me for an hour or two and see what happened.   We  gradually the contractions slowed down, though I was cramping pretty bad and by 10:45 they decided to send me home.   DH and I are so ready for baby to arrive and hoping he/she makes his appearance soon since DH goes back to work next Thursday and he wants as much time with baby as he can.    it was depressing getting sent home but hopefully we will be back there soon...

So sorry - I'm sure that was disappointing. But it also means that things are getting closer! I'm sure then next time you go in they will invite you to stay!

Awww I'm sorry, I really thought that was the real thing for you!  I bet you'll be back in there with "OMG-THIS-IS-REAL" contractions within the next few days!

Don't give up hope that happened to me as well. went in at 9am on a friday only 1-2cm. was sent home, back later that night only 4cm.. went back the next morning still only around 4-5 but with some progression and had MJ at 5pm that night...

Awwww...I'm sorry! That really sucks - especially when you're overdue! I would have begged for an induction at that point. LOL

It does sound like you're pretty close though so hopefully things move along for you in the next couple of days.

I have been a couple times for false alarms. It always makes me feel really stupid, but they always say better safe than sorry! Hey, they have to come out SOMETIME, right?
