Hi, all.
I ended up having a "surprise" doctor visit yesterday because I was having cramps and some chest pain. Everything was fine, but it made me want to get one of those "fetal heart moniter" things. That way I'll be able to check on baby whenever I want.
My sister in law rented one, but from what I undertstand they're not that expensive to buy. Is the one you rent a better one or something? I went to babies r us last night to pick one up, and it was a really cheap looking one. It also said it wouldn't work till 28 weeks? I want one that will work for me now, at 15 weeks. That's the whole point! At 28 weeks, I should hope I can feel the baby myself.
Do you ladies have any links to places online that are reputable that I could buy one? Or (better still) do you know of anywhere that I can buy one in person?
Thanks in advance...

Re: Doppler/Heart Moniter?
We got this one as well on Amazon and have been able to pick up her HB since around 10 wks. It wasn't too expensive either. Good luck!
I also have the Sonoline B, but couldn't find it with an Amazon search. I purchased mine from HealthAidMonitors. With shipping it was $63, plus the ultrasound gel which was $3.99 per tube.
At first, I thought it was defective. I wasn't getting anything when I put it on my abdomen. And I was getting a register when I just held it up in the air. I was putting gel on the probe itself and I think that is the problem. Once I put a large amount of gel on my tummy (below the bikini line), I am able to find the hearbeat about 75% of the time. It can be difficult to distinguish between my own and the baby's but the baby's is much faster.
Hey,
I couldn't find it on Amazon, but I found these:

which of these would you get? Any suggestions for one to avoid?

PgAL and PAL always welcome...I would get the Sonoline B, like others have recommended. That's what I use and I'm becoming a pro at finding the baby after about a minute of trying; it worked for me at about 11wks. The Sonoline seems to be the highest recommended and most user-friendly over others, from what I've seen on TB.
Glad things turned out well for you at the doctor.
I have the Sonoline B from www.crucialmed.com
I ordered it from recommendations in posts on thebump.
It's been great to have - we're having some complications so I just like the reassurance every few days!
Good luck!
