I have been working my butt of - running 3x a week, hour long zumba class twice a weeks, kettle bell dvd 1-2x a week and I also ride my horse at least once a week.
I also have been on a diet - no processed/packaged foods and I have not had any since January, I also have not had any fast foods.
Well, this week was super incredibly busy for me, and I only got to run once, went to 2 zumba classes and rode my horse 3 times.
I adhered to my diet with the exception of 2 martinis when I went out for a friend's birthday on Saturday (but we also danced for 2 hours).
I get on the scale today and I have gained a pound.
Then to top if off, I have sat here all day at work while everyone eats pizza, cheese bread, chocolates and sugar cookies for Valentine's day, and I have had veggies and non fat sour cream ranch dip because I am all depressed over gaining a pound back.
I hate the scale! Maybe I will throw it away as a Valentine's Day present to myself.
Re: Losing weight is hard
GET RID OF THE SCALE
It's not an accurate measure of progress and it will only make you crazy. With all you've been doing I bet you've gained a good deal of muscle mass. How are your clothes fitting?
My clothes are getting pretty lose, and some jeans I can't even wear anymore. It is nice to actually see the #'s on the scale go down though. I have a shirt that I am using as a gauge of what I want to fit into, and I have 1 more pant size to go until I am back to wearing my size 27/28 jeans.
AND don't forget - muscle weighs more than fat - so a little fluctuation is normal. You're going to be converting fat to muscle along the way.
One reason why I hate the Biggest Loser. Its not an accurate gauge for others to compare to.
I have to get my arse going again. I'm baking cookies for DH for Valentines Day and I just ate fingerfulls of cookie dough. ... and I need to lose 50 lbs. So, don't sway from what you're doing. You'll appreciate those foods again when you've lost more weight and accomplished your goals.
