Please come in if you run with a jogging stroller...

We got a cheapo (In Step) Jogging stroller used and it's just not cutting it.
We want to purchase a nice one for running medium distances (5-10 miles). Typically, we run on sidewalks and small trails only so I'm looking for some suggestions.
We didn't really like the fixed wheel and I noticed some of the BOBS have fixed wheels, so, although everyone seems to rave about them, I'd like to get some more opinions from you ladies.

My particular questions if you run with your jogging stroller:

* Which brand/model do you have
* Are you happy with the ease/maneuverability?

Thanks so much!

  • Bob Revolution - you can fix the wheel if you want, but it goes 360 otherwise.  It is awesome, I actually use it as my everyday stroller.  You can find them on sale sometimes - I got mine using an REI member discount for 20% off.  Brought it down to about $320.  They are super nice and roomie, so I could see DD riding in it for a long time (if she wanted to).

  • I'm not jogging yet due to some plantar fasciitis, but we have the BOB with the fixed wheel and knobby tires. Sorry - I don't remember the model. I don't mind the fixed wheel as much as I thought I would. I can even turn it when I'm holding the dog leashes with one hand. We got ours for $100 off craigslist and it was in good shape.

  • I run with the BOB duallie (training for 1/2 marathon).  REI has the 2010 models on clearance.

I have the duallie sport, and I love it.  The fixed wheel takes some getting used to (I can't figured out how to hold on and use my arms to run?!), but it's a great stroller.

  • I also recommend the Revolution.  Easy to lock and unlock the front wheel. Sturdy on bumpy sidewalks and off road but smooth and turns easily indoors.  LOVE the Bob.

Third rec for the Revolution here. I would lock it when I ran (been lazy since it got cold) or when using it on different surfaces like the beach. Otherwise, it's unlocked for normal walks and activities like the zoo.
