PBK Furniture

has anyone ordered furniture from Pottery Barn Kids? i havent decided yet if i'll be getting a new "big girl" bed for DD or getting a new crib for LO#2 but i was looking online at PBK for ideas. I was just wondering about their quality and durability? any problems? any feedback would be great!

Re: PBK Furniture

  • Their stuff is so darned cute, but I was disappointed to see that baby bargains didn't give their cribs very high safety ratings. But I wouldn't hesitate to buy other pieces of furniture or accessories.

  • We got our a crib for DS from there and love it. We actually just went back yesterday to look at cribs for the twins and a toddler bed for DS. Absolutely no hesitation buying those things there.
  • My friend's DD has PBK bed, dresser, nightstand, and book shelf.  She is really impressed with the quality and how sturdy it is.  I have been eyeing a twin bed and dresser for my DD, but I keep hesitating because of the price.  However I haven't found anything else that I like nearly as much, so we'll probably just suck it up and order it soon.

  • DS has a crib, nightstand, changing table/ dresser that all came from PBK. We haven't had any problems with it. He isn't easy on furniture and we're going to put him in his "big boy bed" soon so we can pass his furniture down to the baby. It still is in great shape. I guess the only thing I kinda had a problem with was the sliding rail didn't slide very easily. But, when I actually thought about it, I'd rather it not slide at all. So, before they recalled all cribs DH made it so it couldn't slide. Again, not a big deal. I do recommend buying floor models or going to the outlet though. You'll get a better deal.

  • Unlike PP, I understood Baby Bargains to like PBK.  I have been eyeing a crib there but it's backordered.

  • I wouldn't spend PBK prices on a crib because that is a fixture that is just so temporary in a child's life.  We didn't do the toddler bed, but switched DS straight to a twin bed and chose the PBK catalina twin bed and bought it when it was on sale for $399.  I thought that was a pretty decent price for a bed that he'll be in for years and years and so far, we're finding the quality to be outstanding.
