    I want my child to be happy and healthy.  If that happens then they might as well make good money too ; )  

    But the reality is that most uneducated people don't make lots of money, not to mention some of the other issues that come with lack of education so we'll encourage edcuation.

    I really don't know how the answer this because all I want for them to be happy! If they are educated and don't make a ton of money and are happy, GREAT.

     

    Bottom line for me is if they want to be a garbage man or hair dresser and are happy that is what is most important. A person could be a very well paid doctor but not be happy and in the case they have a good education too!

    Me and DH both have phds from one of the best schools in the world - we have little job security, are over specialized and don't make a salary commensurate with our education - Not worth it
