I currently have a couple of wovens and SSC's that I use with DD, but I am looking into purchasing a ring sling now. I am loving the Sakura Bloom Pixie slings and wondered if it would be a bad idea to go with the single layer of linen? I only ask because my daughter is now 15 months and right at about 20 pounds. Does anyone have experience with toddlers in ring slings that could offer some advice? TIA!
Re: Question for ring sling mamas...
I'm really a novice ring slinger but I have a single layer pixie that I got to use with newbie. I took it on an outing the other day (thinking kiddo probably wouldn't want "up") - turns out he wanted up pretty much the whole time. I was surprised at how comfy it was (he's 28 pounds) on top of me being pregnant.
My guess is that a double layer would be even more supportive but if you are planing on mostly using it for short periods, I think it would be fine. There's actually a double layer pixie on FSOT right now (at least I think I saw one!).

I have a SK pure (single layer of linen). DD is almost 6 months and 20 lbs (lol). It is heavy to carry her for long periods, but it is comfortable for 30-45 minutes. I use it to run errands and such, especially since I switched her to a convertible carseat (the infant one was killing my back).
I kinda want a double layer one, but I also want an SSC so I probably will deal with the one I have. It would probably be more comfortable for you because toddlers support themselves better. My baby is like a big rock.
Thanks, I hadn't thought about her supporting the weight better being a toddler. And I have to say, your "big rock" is quite adorable.
