DC and allergies

If your DC has any allergies how did you realize them? Im not talking about the very obvious allergies to food and such. I think that DD might be allergic to dogs. A family friend has a dog and we have been over there a few times and every time we leave she is super wheezy. I got to thinking about it today after I picked her up that she was once again really wheezy. There is dog hair everywhere and everything else so I am thinking that maybe it is possible.
