Yesterday DD pooped every hour or 2, it wasn't really diarrea (liquidy) but it wasn't formed either.
Today she pooped 3 times a little looser then yesterdays batch, her bum is bright red and she cries when I touch it.
Could this be related to teething? We have no teeth yet and this is the first time this has happened, so the il's and my parents are all telling me it's part of teething.
I have a pedi appt this week, so I'll bring it up to her. Is there something I can do for her in the meantime? She does not have a fever or acting sick, she is just pooping alot more then normal.
Re: Diarrea while teething?
It's called drool poop. They are so much more drooly, which they swallow, so their poop tends to be more loose. And the excessive saliva increases the amount of ammonia in the urine, causing diaper rash.
We do lots of diaper free time during teething. Except I suck at elimination communication and am cleaning pee and poop off the floor more often than I'd like. Luckily we don't have carpet
eta for a whole bunch of typos
We have never had this happen but I really hope your DD feels better soon!
My DD is just about to get her first tooth and she has been having it for the past week. So bad that she is on pedialite. Every morning I'm changing her sheets and I have had to go through a few outfits everyday. She has been miserable with it.
I told me pedi this a few days ago and she says it isn't true, but my mom said this is what happened to my bro and I when we were teething. Plus it's happening to my LO right now. So pretty much what earthyaky said is why I think it happens.
DS pooped more often. I read that loose stools are normal during teething though.
