1. YoBaby yogurt has been a staple in DD's diet for a couple of months now. She loves it. For some reason, for the past few weeks, the supermarket is either out of it or just doesn't have a big selection of flavors. But they always have a big selection of YoToddler. Any idea what the difference is? As long as the YoToddler flavor is one that is safe for an 11 month old (banana, for example), is it okay for DD?
2. DD loves Cheerios. What other types of cereal make good finger snacks? Do you think Kix are okay?
Re: 2 food questions inside...
For yogurt I have just been buying the big thing of Stonyfield organic yogurt. I get the whole milk one, and then add some purees to it for flavor. She loves it, and it is cheaper that way. To answer your question though, I'm not sure the difference in the toddler yogurt, but I can't imagine it would be bad for her. Maybe more sugar or something?
For cereal I have just been sticking with cheerios, but I think anything without much sugar would be okay. That would be the only thing I would be concerned about. But I don't think Kix have much sugar either. FWIW, I have given DD the whole wheat cheerios many times, and they have a light sugar coating on them.
1. Don't know. We have the Gerber brand yogurt.
2. I agree w/ SA; I probably wouldn't try Kix just because they could be a choking hazard. What about regular puffs as snacks? Whole grain kashi rice dissolves really quickly.
GL!
1. Yobaby is whole milk, yotoddler is lowfat. We do plain whole milk yogurt with fruit mixed in.
2. I wouldn't offer kix, I would try to find a different whole grain cereal, low in refined flour/sugar.
Great... thanks! So, I do know that you want your baby to have whole milk and whole milk yogurt is the best choice. But, is lowfat okay? ...at least just to get through the bit of it I bought today?
