Good evening ladies!
Tonight as I was giving B a bath, I noticed a lymph node under his arm in his armpit. It is only the size of a pea, so I'm really not sure if it is swollen or not.
The lymph nodes in the back of his head/neck have been "swollen" (just pea size) since he was a few weeks old (well, that's when I noticed them). You know, the ones that are in the back of the head at your hairline? Ya those. Anyways, he had to have his white blood cell count checked to make sure nothing was going on (nothing was) and they said that they were most likely swollen do his cradle cap...or that we would always be able to feel them - that they just stick out more than other people's. He does still have some cradle cap on his head, so I believe that's why they are still there.
The reason I'm just a tad concerned about the arm pit lymph node(s) is because when I took him in one time for the head/neck lymph nodes the pedi was telling me where it is normal to feel lymph nodes and where it isn't and when we needed to bring him in, etc. This was when he was 2 months old and I can NOT remember what they said. I keep thinking he said arm pit ones aren't normal, but google is saying otherwise, so I think I'm getting the pedi's words mixed up.
I will most likely call the nurse on Monday morning, but wondered if anyone could shed some wisdom on this if you've had any experience with it at all?
Thanks!
