DD just turned 7 months and is eating 3 meals (cereal, fruit/veggie) with 2 oz bottle; nursing when she wakes, at noon and before bed. Is this too much? To little?
Here is her schedule:
6:30- nurse
10ish- cereal, fruit/veggie & 2-3oz bottle
12pm - nurse(if I am home) or 5oz bottle
3pm- cereal, fruit/veggie & 2-3 oz bottle
6pm - cereal, fruit/veggie & sippy with water
8pm - nurse
How many meals a day does your baby eat? My DD will NEVER refuse food...she loves to eat, but I don't want to over feed her!
Re: How many feedings?
Well it doesnt really sound like too much to me. How much of the cereal fruit or veg is she getting? how many tbsp of cereal and is she eating like a whole tub or jar of 1st or 2nd foods. Maybe ask your pedi how much they recommend but im a big believer when it comes to solids that you do what works for you... I doubt your over feeding her =] My DD will be 7mths in about a week and this is her schedule.
6am-4oz bottle bottle
9am-1 1/2 tbsp oatmeal 1/3ish (2nd foods) tub of fruit or yogurt a little juice and water to wash it down(solids constipate DD really bad so we give a bit of juice at every meal to keep things moving)
10am-4oz bottle
1pm-1/3ish (2nd foods) veggie and 1/3ish of fruit (i say "ish" cuz some days its more some days less) little water and juice
2pm-4oz bottle
5pm-she will typically finish the left over veggies from lunch and have some fruit and a little water and juice
7pm- 4 to 6oz bottle
were really working on getting her to take more OZs of formula during the day but as long as shes eating something and gaining weight fine then im not worrying too much. It works for us and shes healthy so thats what matters. Every day for us is different... some days she may get more bottles and less solids.. LOL like i said as long as shes eating, whatever...!
