I think I'm going with the Kissaluvs size 0 for the first few months, but after that I'm having trouble deciding between the one sized pocket diapers or getting them in different sizes.
I like the economical aspect of the one sized, but am wondering about how well they really fit throughout all that growth (part of this is not fully understanding how they transition as baby grows).
Can anyone help me decide? Do the one size really fit and protect against leaks until potty training? And what brand do you love?
Also, what do you love for inserts? Hemp or bamboo, or something else?
TIA!
Re: Pocket Diapers - one size or sized?
Part of this is going to be totally personal preference and will depend on how big your kid is.
DD is a big girl -- 21 pounds at 6 months, and I'm not sure what she weighs right now. She's currently in the middle snap setting on most of her diapers, although a few have two unsnapped (if they have more than two rows) and some are even unsnapped all the way. The ones she's totally unsnapped on (Katydid/Oh Katy and RaR) are definitely not going to fit her all the way.
We're just using microfiber right now, although I'm thinking I may try some hemp soon.
Word of advice though: don't invest totally in one type of diaper. Buy a few to sample once the baby starts getting a little bigger. sized, one-size and a variety of brands to see.
Before I had her, I thought RaR was going to be the way to go. And they're fantastic diapers and don't have leaks. But DD is just too big.
