Hadley is sick and her chest is really congested. She keeps coughing so hard that she pukes. Is there anything I can do for her or give her? She's only 5 months old so not sure what she can have.

Re: Coughing fit...what to do?
This happened with Henry when he was about her age and it turned out to be RSV...you might want to take her in to the pedi just to let them test her. RSV can get really bad really quickly. There's really nothing you can give them at that age, unfortunately. My pedi is ok with a small dose of adult cough syrup, but not until one year of age.
What we did that helped with Henry's cough back then was to let him sleep upright in his bouncy seat and put him in the bathroom and run the hot shower for 30 mins before bedtime. Still, he puked up everything he ate for 10 straight days from coughing.
Hope she's feeling better soon!
Agree with CJ that you should probably take her in just in case (especially at her young age....).
It could also be some form of croup too. If it is croup, they might actually give you a steroid.
I hope she feels better!
You can also turn on a steam shower, close the bathroom door and hold her in there for a bit to see if it loosens up the phlegm.
